Before getting DAXXIFY®, you should follow these instructions: 

Avoid alcohol
Don't drink alcohol for at least 24 hours before your appointment. Alcohol can increase the risk of bruising. 

Avoid blood thinners
Don't take blood thinners, such as aspirin, ibuprofen, or Aleve, for at least two weeks before your appointment. These can increase the risk of bruising and swelling. 

Avoid certain products
Don't use topical products like Retin-A, glycolic acid, or alpha hydroxy acid for three days before your appointment. You should also avoid waxing, bleaching, tweezing, or hair removal cream in the treatment area. 

Schedule around events
Schedule your appointment at least two weeks before any special events, as results can take up to a week to appear.

Avoid scheduling during illness
If you're feeling sick or unwell, reschedule your appointment until you're symptom free.

Consider your medical history
Discuss your medical history and current medications with your provider. You should not get Botox if you're pregnant or breastfeeding, have a pacemaker, or have certain neuromuscular disorders.

Eat before your appointment
Eat a small meal or snack before your appointment to help reduce lightheadedness.

DAXXIFY® injections are typically performed with a small needle and people treated with frown line treatments say the injection feels like a pinch.

If you are concerned about discomfort, talk to your injector about options for minimizing pain, such as icing the area or applying a topical numbing cream. Treatment with DAXXIFY® requires minimal downtime, and you can return to your daily routine immediately after your appointment.

There is a possibility that the area around the injection site will swell, turn red, and cause pain or tenderness from the injection itself; however, these side effects are typically very minor and go away after a few hours or days.

If you’re like most people, you probably get a frown line treatment around twice a year. But here’s the thing: conventional treatments only last 3–4 months. If you are not able to get treated every 3-4 months, that means you may spend the next 2-3 months of the year with those frown lines staring back at you between treatments. That’s up to 4-6 months of total wear off time per year!

For best results, plan to get injections 3-4 times per year, or every 2-4 months. Stay on a schedule to optimize your treatments.

You may see results with DAXXIFY® as early as the next day after treatment, and typically within two days. You should see noticeable results within a two-week time frame. You may experience mild injection-related bruising. In most cases, bruising heals within a few days after injection.

To optimize treatments, many injectors recommend clients schedule their appointment three weeks prior to the event and then schedule a follow-up two weeks later for any touch-ups the client may want.

Do NOT lie down for the first 4 hours after treatment.

Do NOT engage in rigorous exercise or yoga for 24 hours.

Do NOT massage or manipulate injections sites for 48 hours.

AVOID alcoholic beverages on the day of treatment.

Bruises may be covered with makeup and heal in a few days.

It will take 5-7 days to see improvement and 2-3 weeks for full improvement.

Be sure to schedule a 2 week follow-up for re-assessment and touch-ups.
