Botox has been around for over 40 years. It has become synonymous with all neuromodulators on the market. There are many “tox” products on the market and you may have heard of them: Botox®, Dysport®, Jeuveau®, and Xeomin® . In fact, four more neurotoxin products are expected to hit the market in 2024-2025. At Jill Sharp, RN we use a product called DAXXIFY® . Introduced to the market in 2022, domestically studied and manufactured in Silicon Valley, California, this product has become known for “The Daxxify glow”.

Neuromodulator injections are a popular cosmetic treatment used to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. These minimally invasive injections to specific facial muscles temporarily relaxes them. Once relaxed, your skin begins to rejuvenate, smooth, refresh and give off a healthy, natural glow.

Common areas to treat include the forehead, frown lines between the eyebrows, and crows feet around the eye. Injection appointments are quick and do not require any downtime so you can return to work or continue with your day. Results can usually be seen the next day with maximum effect by two weeks and results usually lasting a few months. Most people get injections 3 to 4 times per year.

Your facial anatomy, the “look” you’re going for, and your budget all play a role in the number of units we decide to inject. Forehead lines and frown lines are often treated together with 22-32 units commonly injected. Crows feet are typically 6 units per eye. DAXXIFY® costs $10/unit.

THE DAXXIFY® DIFFERENCE

Fast. Lasts.
And the Look.

  • DAXXIFY® costs $10 per unit.

Earn discounts when you book with friends!
When you and one friend book appointments back to back together, you each get $9/unit. Book back to back with two or more friends and you all get $8/unit. You can come together and hang out while we the injections are done. It's fun!!

  • Your budget and your unique facial anatomy will determine how many units I inject. Most often, I inject the following:

Forehead lines: 10-12 units at 5 or 6 injection points
Angry 11's between the eyes: 12-20 units in 3 to 5 injection sites
Crows Feet: 2 units in 2-3 sites at each eye
Brow lift: 2 units at the end of each brow
Scowl/Frown lines near the mouth: 2-4 units at each DAO
Tox "Face Lift": 2 units at four sites along the jaw line
Chin dimpling: 2 units at three sites

Some people like to "go light" and keep some facial animation but most commonly, people are happier more "frozen".

  • All frown line treatments require a special ingredient to stabilize botulinum toxin A, the protein responsible for helping smooth moderate to severe frown lines. For instance, Botox® Cosmetic uses human serum albumin (HSA), a blood product, as its stabilizer. Dysport®, another frown line treatment, uses HSA as a stabilizer and cow's milk protein as a protectant.

DAXXIFY® is unique because it is the only formulation that uses a novel peptide as a stabilizer and does not contain human or animal byproducts.

  • DAXXIFY® is unique because it’s the only frown line treatment formulated with a peptide. The peptide helps eliminate the need for human or animal products to stabilize the active ingredient, botulinum toxin A. The peptide also enhances attachment of the active ingredient, acting like a magnet and making more toxin available to enter nerve cells. The peptide formulation delivers outstanding results that are fast, last, and give a better look to the skin’s texture after treatment.

  • In 2002, physicians and entrepreneurs founded a start-up in Silicon Valley, California to explore the use of peptides in biologics for different therapeutic uses. Their goal was to utilize peptides to transport biologics, typically large molecules, through the skin.

The initial idea was to formulate botulinum toxin type A, the active ingredient in DAXXIFY®, with a peptide to see if it could be applied topically to the skin to treat crow’s feet wrinkles. Through this process, scientists discovered that the formulation was optimally administered through injection. Several clinical studies were created to determine the correct dose for an injectable product that would treat frown lines.
